Seeing the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show for the first time is simply overwhelming! I thought I knew what to expect...but FLIBS blew it out of the park. Huge doesn't describe it... it's maaasive! It's like the Hermitage of the Yachting world... it will take a month to see the whole thing properly! Take it from someone with extensive event planning experience, this production is no joke: the build out, the yacht delivery logistics and the amount of staff making this possible... I take my hat off to the organizers... absolutely nothing like I have ever seen in the world of Yacht Shows. Check out these 5 things that set Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show apart from the rest. 1. Organization and execution Organization at FLIBS is on point: including ticketing, multiple entrances, plenty of food vendors, signage and lots of restrooms. 2. Water taxis One of my favorite parts was the Water taxi system connecting multiple show locations. What a great way to start every day: boarding a boat and cruising through the Fort Lauderdale waterways to go to see more boats! 3. Windward VIP Club Lounge You have an option to do FLIBS in style: purchase the VIP passes and relax in air-conditioned lounge located in the heart of the Super Yacht section where you can enjoy open bar and gourmet food. You also would have an option to use the concierge services to book a tour or/ and plan your day at the show. 4. MyBoatShow App It's an essential planning tool and you pretty much could not productively attend FLIBS without using this App. It's interactive map feature helps to navigate this MEGA Boat show and the search tool allows to search for boats by name, size or make and tells you it's location. You can use these tools to build the list of your desired boats or vendors and plan your days at the show to get the most out of it. 5. Size and something for everybody Whether you are a newbie in the world of boating, fishing is your hobby or you are searching for your next bigger yacht to cure your “2-foot-tietze”... No doubt, Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show will leave you satisfied. With it's 7 locations and every-world-vendor-possible exhibiting, the only thing you will be missing is enough time to see it all. If I could leave you with some advise: plan ahead, use MyBoatShow App, wear sunscreen, bring a hat and a battery pack for your phone, wear the right clothes (check out my The perfect Yacht shopping outfit Post) and don't even try to do it all... there is always next year!
See you next November! V
