“If I were a mermaid, I’d live where the waters are blue and crystal clear and spend my days traveling from island to island.” We did a poll to find out where you think the best mermaid destination would be… Can you guess what it was? This place has plenty of of colorful, exotic fish and sea life such as the — Sea Green Turtle, the Spotted Moray Eel, and the Potter’s Angel fish, offering an endless amount of sea friends and acquaintances for mermaids(: The Juvenile Masked Anglefish, Raccoon Butterflyfish, the Parrotfish, the Pincushion Sea Star, and— Day Octopus, along with many other species can also be found in this tropical paradise. Some species such as the — Bigeye and the — Monk Seal can only be found in these waters creating a unique underwater experience. The waters and weather are also known to be warm in this region making for perfect sea days every day. This corner of the world is also known for its shaka, or hang loose, lifestyle. Shaka is the spirit of this culture where everyone looks out for one another and tries to live in the moment rather than worry about what may never come. This friendly and social lifestyle guarantees an excitement-packed life for mermaids. It’s the perfect tropical escape to wind down and enjoy a little vitamin sea. How do all the locals and tourists of this destination not spot these mermaids? Like every tropical island around the world, they have their own hidden secrets. ;) With secluded beaches, coves, and underwater caves, the possibilities are endless. Bubble Cave, Spitting Caves, Secret Beach, Makalawena Beach, and Polihua Beach are examples of some interesting and unique spots. You can never really know where a few mermaids might be hanging out in the beautiful islands of Hawaii, the top mermaid destination according to everyone who participated in our mermaid destination poll. With eight main islands (Hawaii, Maui, Oahu, Kahoolawe, Lanai, Molokai, Kauai, and Niihau) as well as one small island (Kaala), there’s so much for a mermaid to do and so many places to go. The next time you find yourself in Hawaii, you might wanna check out some of these cool places that I’ve mentioned, and be sure to be on the lookout for mermaids! ;) ***The runner-ups for mermaid destinations were the Galapagos Islands and the Bahamas (which are both really great choices).
