I have had a sunglass addiction for a while, I had a lot, A LOT of sunglasses...everything that looked cool...never did I understand the difference until I got my first good pair of polarized sunglasses.
"It's like flying business class, it's painful to go back and you are hurting."
“But why polarized? Who cares?”
If you live in SoCal and spend as much time in the sun and on the water as I do, you can't live without it! Number one is the sun protection (especially when you have a light color eyes), staring at the glare while wearing regular lenses can actually burn your eyes, and is slowly damaging your eye sight. And number two is the clarity and the anti-glare you need on the water. It's 4 times as hard to spot marine life without polarized sunglasses, they are your best friend when it comes to dolphin/whale watching. And if you ever sail the Caribbean or any area with lots of corral reefs, polarized sunglasses are a must have. It makes it easier to see the coral in the water and can actually save your boat. So quality vs. quantity is my current motto when it comes to sunglasses. Go get some, you will never go back!
