If Saint-Petersburg, Russia is not already on your short list of places to visit, it definitely needs to be. As many of you may know, it's my home town where I was born and raised. But this city have changed so much, since I moved to Los Angeles 18 years ago!
NautiStyles is a Nautical Lifestyle blog uncovering Yachting and Boating, Nauti Fashion and Style, Whale Watching, Sailing Vacations, Travel and all things Marine.

It has always been the cultural center of Russia, but Moscow was often ahead when it came to modernization and hipster lifestyle. I must say, in the last few years Saint-Petersburg has really flourished as an European foodie destination and a total hipster city. American dollar and Euro still go a long way here, which makes this destination even more desirable.

How to get lost in Baja and kiss a Baby Whale - Part II

1/27/2018

Read Part I if you've missed it

The Land of the Whales met us with desert-brown scenery and never-ending-forks-on-the-off-road all leading back to the same path. As we pulled into the Kuyima Eco Camp lost oasis of civilization (well, sort of), the vast San Ignacio Lagoon opened up in front of us.

How to get lost in Baja and Kiss a Baby Whale - Part I

1/13/2018

I'm getting goose bumps just thinking about that trip...since I was a kid touching a whale has been kind of a “untouchable” dream of mine...kissing a whale?! Well, that's just silly!
What if I told you there is a place on Earth you could have such a close encounter (legally and safely)?

5 Best things about FLIBS - the Largest Yacht Show in the World

11/25/2017

Seeing the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show for the first time is simply overwhelming! I thought I knew what to expect...but FLIBS blew it out of the park. Huge doesn't describe it... it's maaasive! It's like the Hermitage of the Yachting world... it will take a month to see the whole thing properly!
Take it from someone with extensive event planning experience, this production is no joke: the build out, the yacht delivery logistics and the amount of staff making this possible... I take my hat off to the organizers... absolutely nothing like I have ever seen in the world of Yacht Shows. Check out these 5 things that set Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show apart from the rest.

I have not met a girl yet that doesn't have a shoe addiction. I love shoes! Heels, flats, wedges...all of it! But the Nautical Lifestyle has definitely had a major impact on my shoe taste. I now have many pairs of cute flats and boat shoes in every nautical shape and style: stripes, anchors...you name it! These Blue-Anchor-Beauties just recently stole "the Shoe corner" of my heart.

The truth about becoming a USCG Certified Captain

1/16/2016

When you spend as much time on board as I do, you start wondering what would be the next step? What would be the ultimate goal that separates the recreational boater and a professional? Well, Captain comes to mind...CAPTAIN...hmmm, it's like trying on a new last name or a royal status...Captain Victoria, Captain V...that has a nice ring to it!

But can I do this? Can I really become a captain? Do I have what it takes? And what does it really take?

The Misery onboard: Seasickness

1/2/2016

When it comes to cause and treatment of seasickness there are just as many personal opinions, as there are people on this planet. It's the elephant onboard no one wants to talk about, because “it's contagions” and “not fun”. There are 2 types of boaters: the ones that get seasick and the ones they don't. If you fall into the unlucky category, you have heard it all: “you will get used to it”, “don't drink”, “don't eat”, “look at the horizon”, “snap out of it”, “just don't think about it”...but you still get sick?

I did not want to do another post about a bunch of natural remedies and ideas that might help.
I believe understanding the problem is the first step to managing it.
  So what is seasickness?

Colors and Prints

I wanted to do a post about a few beautiful pieces I got from the Los Angeles based brand Sienna Rose.
I'm in love with this colorful and stylish blouse, that I have chosen to wear as tunic in these pics.

There are not many truly Nautical prints out there. And the Stripes would be sad and lonely if it wasn't for the Chevron. Gotta love the Chevron.
